Ideal planting time is spring and autumn, but can be planted year-round.
Pruning
In late winter or early spring, prune the Paniculata by cutting it down to a height of 20-30cm. Trim the branches down to the level of the bottom two sets of buds. This rejuvenating pruning method encourages new growth and promotes a healthier, more vigorous plant.
Watering
To maintain proper hydration for your plants, adjust your watering frequency to the ambient temperature, ranging from 4-7 times a week. It is advisable to incorporate deep watering practices at least 2 to 3 times a week. This involves generously applying water, either by using buckets to saturate the soil around the plant or creating a small reservoir around the base of the plant. Allow the water to permeate deeply into the soil, ensuring effective and sustained moisture for optimal plant health.
Hydrangeas like consistently moist soil. Water deeply when the top inch of soil feels dry. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
Notes
Specific care might vary based on your location, soil type and climate. Regular monitoring of your plants and adjusting care accordingly will help ensure healthy and vibrant hydrangeas.
